Travel Tips

We know this may the first time in Poland for many of you. And because we love you, we’ve compiled some tips to keep in mind when booking travel.

If you want some more specific help, reach out to us!

For those on the West Coast:

  • It is often cheapest to book your travel legs separately. We recommend booking cheap flights to big hub including Chicago, New York, Boston, London, Paris, Frankfurt, or Berlin. Then booking a separate ticket to Krakow from that hub.

  • You have the farthest to fly, so if you have the time and are budget-conscious, consider doing a day long layover! We’ve both had wonderful spontaneous adventures while saving hundreds by spending a single night in a new city like Lisbon on TAP Airlines, or Berlin on Lufthansa. It actually was less tiring than flying straight.

For those in the Midwest:

  • Check LOT - the Polish airlines - if you fly through Chicago O’Hare Airport. LOT does direct flights from Chicago to Krakow. They may be a pricier, but they are by far the most convenient travel path.

  • You are the largest group, so if you’re budget-conscious consider a roadtrip to a hub then flying from there! Piotr’s parents frequently rent a car in Lincoln, drive it to Chicago, return the car, and fly straight to Poland from there.

For those on the East Coast:

  • From Boston and New York you can likely get reasonable tickets directly to Krakow or Warsaw, with a connection to Krakow.

  • However, the cheapest flights are often through London, Paris, Berlin, or Munich. If you book a ticket to one of those hubs then take a separate ticket to Krakow, you can save the most.
