Warszawa
What to do in Warsaw?
Warsaw, the capital of Poland and Piotr’s birthplace. Warsaw is an incredible place for history buffs. Besides being the center of commerce in Poland, Warsaw was the place of some of Polands most significant moments.
Warsaw was also beautifully carefully rebuilt after WWII to its former glory. So walking through the streets and town you see the love Polish people put into their capital city through recreated architecture from the middle-ages among the twinkling skyscrapers. And all this around the main river that runs through Warsaw. Be sure to take a walk around the river if you come and see some of the public art installations.

If you have a chance to visit Warsaw, we can’t recommend the Jewish Museum enough. It’s one of the best museums Piotr and Ella have ever seen. It covers history from before Poland’s founding (1025) up through today with globally ranked exhibits.
Also to better understand Polish history, a trip to Warsaw requires a visit to the Uprising Museum. And to see Stalin’s only interesting architecture, visit the Palace of Culture and Science and see the city from the observation deck.
But be sure to also enjoy the nature. Warsaw has one of the best city parks in Poland, Łazienki. You can go and listen to Chopin concert and walk through the rolling green. It reminds Ella and Piotr of New York’s Central Park.

For great food in Warsaw, we always head to the Old Town next to the Palace in the center of the city. This way you can enjoy the views with your meal. An old staple of Warsaw, still going strong from Communist times, and one of our favorites is Bazyliszek restaurant. And for any pierogi you could want, try the classic chain Zapiecek.

Warsaw is a great old city that’s easy to visit as a family or solo. It’s also the most diverse city in Poland with the most happening. You would need at least a week to do it all!
